PubEd10/04/10: Public Education Meeting

Join us! This committee conducts speaker trainings (sometimes in multiple languages) to enable our volunteers to address the media, API organizations, conferences, classes, and churches. The committee also plans educational events to empower our supporters with information to build support for marriage equality among their friends, families, and constituents. A light meal will be provided so PLEASE RSVP!

lights10/23/10: Lights, Camera, Q-Activism!

This exciting half-day training will provide API Equality-LA's active core volunteers an opportunity to learn how to make short PSAs/YouTube videos on API-Equality activities and the lives/loves of API LGBT families. Academy-Award nominee Arthur Dongwill draw on his decades-long experience in documentary to share invaluable tips for preparation and shooting out in the field, andDebra Nakatomi of Nakatomi Associateswill cover techniques on how to speak in soundbites and provide effective messaging that will change hearts and minds. Attendees will have an opportunity to play around with our camera and use our editing software to put together a short clip at the end. Due to limited seating, this fun, interactive workshop is available free of charge to ouractive core volunteersandthose who wish to join our media efforts(subject to approval).
