Gay and Lesbian Asian Groups March in Lunar New Year Parade For First Time

On February 4, a pro-gay and lesbian rights contingent joined the annual Los Angeles Chinatown lunar new year parade for the first time in its 107 year history. In response to attacks on domestic partnership and restrictions on same-sex marriage, API Equality-LA, a new coalition of Asian and Pacific Islander (API) individuals and organizations, formed to advance marriage equality rights.
