API Equality-LA General Coalition Meeting

August 10 is the tenth year anniversary of the murder of Filipino American postal worker Joseph Ileto by a white supremacist. The case immediately became a cause celebre for Asian American civil rights activists and the impetus for coalition-building among all communities victimized by hate crime. Joseph's brother Ismael will speak about the impact of the horrific day on the Ileto family and their ten year struggle to secure justice for all victims of hate crime and pass the Matthew Shepard Hate Crimes Prevention Act, now before Congress."

There will be a report from the Leadership Summit held in San Bernardino on July 25, which brought together activists statewide to discuss strategies for restoring marriage equality in California!

There will also be reports from API Equality - LA members who attended Camp Courage in East LA this past weekend. Please RSVP!
